Clayoo® is an advanced modelling application with the ability to effortlessly create any form efficiently and accurately, however complex.

“It is like modelling by hand!” – This is the concept of Clayoo®, it doesn’t matter if you start from a sketch, curve or a 3D object. It’s about the ease of pulling, pushing and moving until your idea comes true.

Ideal for designing architecture, jewellery, consumer products, toys, aerospace, marine, furniture, … anyone who needs to create complex freeform shapes should use Clayoo®.

When precision is a must - Clayoo® offers real-time tools to analyse distances, variance, … Likewise, standard Rhino tools such as Draft Angle, Thickness Analysis, … allowing working in Real Time.

Not only modelling, but manufacturing - Clayoo® geometry is perfect for manufacturing prototypes, molds, … By exporting the STL, it automatically generates closed meshes.

Clayoo® becomes essential for “Reverse Engineering” with advanced tools as Retopology, which allows you to create surfaces over digitized objects easily, being able to convert the result in NURBS surfaces.

Key Benefits

Unlimited Creation and Modification

  • Modeling from any geometry: surfaces, solids, meshes or from a sketch
  • Edit easily using the most advanced tools such as Join, Break, Divide, Separate, Offsets, Raise, Move, Extrude, Plunge, Shell... and much more. The possibilities are limitless!
  • Retopology 3D, Scan Data and STL to Clayoo® Surfaces or NURBS

When control and accuracy are important

  • Works accurately, freely, or both.
  • Define more control points in areas that require it
  • Advanced offset, shell and bridge connection

High performance, definition of detail areas

  • Allows varying levels of detail across one object. For example, when modelling a face you can use less definition across the majority of the area but choose higher definition around the eyes and eyebrows

 Clayoo Surfaces, 100% Compatibility

  • Clayoo® has been created by TDM Solutions in and for Rhinoceros.

Key Features

The Key Features of Clayoo

Within Clayoo there are three different approaches to modelling, all within one convenient plugin, all within the Rhinoceros interface.

Clayoo® SUBD Logo

Similar to modelling with clay, SubD allows you to create organic designs, however complex, with this easy to use, NURBS compatible tool.

Clayoo® Emboss Logo

You can use the Emboss technology to design in 2D, create vectors and do 3D relief modelling. Add texture
and emboss your piece while creating a digital relief for a stunning 3D profile model directly from a picture.

Clayoo® Sculpt Logo Clayoo Sculpt includes easy to use brush tools to digitally sculpt within the Rhino 5.0 interface.
Sculpt technology also allows you to get a closed mesh in just one click.

Technical Details

Technical Details / System Requirements:

Clayoo is a plugin for Rhino3d, we would suggest the hardware advise for Rhino itself would apply when looking at new hardware, more information on that here:

Clayoo & Rhino3d System Requirements

There are also some sample build Windows Workstations showing suitable specifications for Rhino3d alone and also more powerful options which may be desirable if you are using Clayoo together with any of the popular renderers for Rhino:

Rhino3d, Clayoo & Rendering Workstations

Minimum System Requirements for Clayoo:

  • Intel Core i5 or higher processor
  • 200 MB disk space
  • 2 GB RAM
  • OpenGL 4.3 or higher compatible graphics card
  • Windows 7 or higher (64 bits)

Recommended System Requirements

  • Intel Core i7 or higher processor (64 bits)
  • 500 MB disk space
  • 8GB RAM or more
  • NVIDIA GT 430, ATI Radeon 5570 or Higher
  • Windows 7 or higher (64 bits)

What’s New

What's new in Clayoo 2.5?

  • Clayoo kernel refactor, more reliable and faster
  • User Interface updated with new controls, responsive, more clear, unified and user friendly
  • Vertex visualization has been updated to make difference between normal state, mouseover and selected
  • Implemented a button on the toolbar on viewport to toggle between Cage/Smooth visualization when model is subdivided. Can also be set by default in settings (Points on Surface option)
  • Help documentation updated and improved
  • Settings panel updated and adapted to the new User Interface
  • _ClayReportFeedback: new command to allow users free communication with the Developer Team to communicate crashes, bugs, wishes or any functionality concern
  • Toolbar updated implementing new commands and changes
  • Subdivision Level can be set by object, instead of only by scene
  • Parameters by default has been updated in all commands and are saved in session, in order to rerun commands with previous changes
  • Shaders updated when working with Rhino layers
  • Level of Subdivision of the object is set automatically to "1" to improve performance. This change is applied while transforming geometry with gumball

There's many updates and improvements to Primitives, Creation, Edition, SelectionHotkeys features too.
